Why Terrecon

Our name is not as simple as it might seem

The Name "Terrecon"

reflects the background of our co-founders and the work we do.

The Co-Founders

met while serving in Donbas. The area's distinctive slag heaps, known in Ukraine as "terykony", became a shared symbol of the place where they first met.

Terrecon References

The name Terrecon brings together two ideas: the terykony, a symbol of Donbas, and "territory of reconnaissance". Together, they reflect both our roots and our mission.

Co-founders

Daria Verbytska

Co-founder, former co-founder of NGO "OSINT". Former Executive Director of Molfar Intelligence Institute. Graduate of Aspen Institute Kyiv and SOPHOS.JOINT.CYBER 2.0.

Dmytro Pulmanovsky

Co-founder, active-duty officer of the National Guard of Ukraine. Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the "Svoboda" Battalion, 4th Operational Brigade of the NGU.

Vitaliy Lytvyn

Co-founder, Former Deputy Battalion Commander, and Senior Intelligence Officer. Commander of the Artillery Reconnaissance Battery in a separate NGU brigade. Graduate of the "Unifier" program, recognized as the top cadet.

Maksym Bovchaliuk

Co-founder, Senior Sergeant of the Reconnaissance Platoon, "Svoboda" Battalion, 4th Brigade "Rubizh," NGU. Over 4 years of experience in OSINT, HUMINT, and GEOINT. Specializes in tactical and strategic analytics for military intelligence.

A dedicated technical division focused on developing tools and software for analytical teams. The core goal is to automate the collection, processing, and structuring of intelligence data so researchers spend less time on routine tasks. The team works with open-source data, cyber investigations, and network threat analysis. High-quality data visualisation is one of our priorities, and we aim to make it accessible to our partners.

A professional analyst can determine when a photo was taken (down to the exact day and, in some cases, even the minute) simply from the length and direction of a shadow cast by a pole or a tree.

If faces, documents, or equipment in a photo are carefully blacked out or blurred, the image is 100% safe.

Ordinary fitness apps or smartwatches on people's wrists can accidentally expose the location of covert military facilities.
